For those who knew Galena, did you have to look twice at this photo? Us too! This is not Galena. . .it's the dog we saw on a wharf in Boston.
We had a very surreal experience while we were walking on a wharf in Boston. We saw Galena, our sweet golden who went doggie heaven a little over a year ago.
We were walking on our favorite wharf near the New England Aquarium when Matt told me to look inside this tiny office, and there was a golden retriever sleeping in front of a desk. He said the dog looked like Galena! I peeked in as I walked by, and thought "sure, that dog kind of looks like Galena." It was enough to get me thinking about her and all the good times we had :) So we hung out at the end of the pier, took photos of the boats, the water; and Hannah played in the puddles (it rained earlier). On our walk back down the wharf, the dog saw us coming and came out of the office, and walked right over to Matt's scooter and proceeded to lick off all the crumbs from breakfast that were on the floor of the scooter! Just like Galena would have done. This dog seemed to know who Matt was, and that there was FOOD to be eaten on his scooter. It had to be Galena!!! Most stranger dogs have no idea what to think about a scooter, and certainly don't think to check the floor of it for tasty treats of meals past. . .only our goldens know about that special place. :)
The minute I saw the dog come out of the office and walk towards us, I started crying because she looked EXACTLY like Galena. And she came right over to us like she knew us. It was so unreal! I mean she looked EXACTLY like Galena! Same face, same size, same coat, same mannerisms. . .everything. We couldn't believe it! I wanted to take her home with us :(
It was absolutely incredible. We got to see Galena again :)
We love you and miss you Galena.

Wow. Uncanny. You should put a picture of your Galena next to this to show everyone.
